Ajinomoto Frozen Sushi
Makizushi (rolled sushi). A cylindrical piece, formed with the help of a bamboo mat, called a makisu. Makizushi is
generally wrapped in nori, a sheet of dried seaweed that encloses the rice and fillings. Occasionally the nori is substituted with a paper thin fried egg wrapper. Makizushi is usually cut into six or eight pieces, which constitute an order.
The California roll is a maki roll, usually made inside-out, containing English cucumber, imitation crab stick, and avocado. Sometimes crab salad is substituted for the crab stick, and often the outer layer of rice (in an inside-out roll) is sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds or tobiko.
Ajinomoto recently developed this wonderful, delicious frozen sushi that retains the same quality and flavor of fresh-rolled sushi. Our frozen California Rolls contain fresh imitation crab and avocado, are rolled in sticky rice and sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds. No more waiting in a crowded sushi bar. These rolls can be thawed in 1 minute in your microwave. Sushi rolls come with wasabi, soy sauce and a side of pickled ginger.
